Dark gray sofas, a wooden coffee table, and floor lamps sit behind her, and blurred city lights show through the large windows. I wanted the warm indoor light to hold her skin against the dark room and the distant glow outside, and I cannot explain how the likeness reads so clear in the soft shadows on her face. I changed the camera height to keep the window lights at her shoulder level instead of cutting across her eyes. Next time I would dim the floor lamps to see if the city lights through the glass gain more presence against her skin.
